In an article for the Property Observor, Terry Ryder notes, “to be successful, investors need to dig beneath the shallow media numbers to find the best places to buy. Sadly, few do so and end up making decisions based on misinformation.”

The old adage of ‘knowledge is power’ will forever resonate with the astute investor. However, having the capacity to interpret data that leads to highly informed investment decision making appears the bounty of a select few. Those incapable or disinterested in doing the required ‘heavy lifting’ may get lucky on occasion, but history suggests this approach is folly.
